Roger apologised for walking in but joked with them and told them that he could sing,not thinking that they would take him seriously. To Roger's surprise they invited him to sing!

His professional singing and acting career began that day! He got the lead character in 'Hotstuff!' Roger played 'Joe Soap' at the Haymarket theatre in Leicester.

Roger later then went on to perform as the Jazz Legend 'Cab Calloway' in the West End musical, 'The Blues Brothers' which toured the UK and Germany for one year.

RW also had a taste of the film set when he worked on two films the James Bond movie, 'Tomorrow Never Dies' and the Sci fi movie 'The Fifth Element.'

In 1999, Roger was chosen out of literally thousands of hopefuls to play the adult Simba in the original cast of 'The Lion King' {Walt Disney Theatrical.} He played Simba in the West End smash hit musical for three and a half years at the Lyceum theatre in London.
